Deacon Emmetri Monica Beane

From the age of 11, Deacon Emmetri Monica Beane determined that her deepest desire was to serve those that Christ spoke of in Luke 4:18-19 - the poor, the brokenhearted, the captive, the blind, and the bruised. The vocational diaconate is a continuation of that call and purpose.

After a brief membership with St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Remington, Deacon Emmetri was a faithful and active member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Culpeper. Her church family there was extremely supportive during the formation process for her to enter the diaconate.

Born in Bronx, NY, and with her life firmly tied to both sides of her family on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Deacon Emmetri is a graduate of University of Virginia in Fine Arts. In addition to a law degree, Deacon Emmetri has a Masters of Science in Conflict Resolution. All of these skills, talents and training, she pours into ministry to those God has called her to serve.

In her free time, Deacon Emmetri enjoys parenting her 18 year old daughter and still being a be mom to her 24 year old daughter, being a fan of all DC sports teams (especially the Nationals), learning to knit and crochet, along with spending time with family and friends.

Deacon Emmetri is passionate about serving the most vulnerable among us through using her background as an attorney and as a conflict intervenor. She is active in work to end extreme poverty and systemic injustice through the Micah Challenge, Kairos Prison Ministry International, and Victory Transitional Housing, Bealeton, VA.
