Feed My Sheep – The Word Of The Day Is Steadfast
I spent time this morning of the 4th of July helping pack the 24 sets of food for our Culpeper neighbors served by Feed My Sheep Ministries. We are consistently being able to refill the pantry with gifts from Little Fork and while Pam is thrilled, she worries that we will become weary in giving. I said NO, we will keep the food coming and the word that came to me was steadfast. We, as the body of Christ, at Little Fork, have made a commitment to Feed My Sheep and it is transforming lives for the better. According to Catholic Charities data, 9.6% of the folks in Culpeper County don’t consistently know where their next meal is coming from. With just a little rounding up, that means if we lined up 10 Culpeper neighbors, one would be wondering about having enough food to provide for their family. Thank you for your continued gifts and while being steadfast, we don’t always have to be the same. If you signed up for a veggie and find canned fruit on sale, please swap out your dozen. If you have not adopted, any protein (tuna or peanut butter) is always needed. And there’s no set schedule, just drop off food as it works in your schedule. We celebrate freedom today, but many of our neighbors do not share those same freedoms from worry–even about the most basic of things–Food– and we are helping them each month!
