Little Fork Church Attended Culpeper’s Pride Festival
For the second year in a row, Little Fork Episcopal Church was the only church to have a booth at Culpeper’s Pride Festival. There were several clergy at the festival and most stopped by and had meaningful conversations with Stacy. The stories we heard this year were not as somber. Last year we heard many stories of how the church had betrayed members of the LGBTQ+ community. This year it was more of “Thank you for being here” . We did have several conversations with folks who were actively seeking a welcoming and inclusive faith community so they were invited to check out the website, watch us online and hopefully attend in person. The crowd numbered about 1200 composed of both members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies there to support them. Many more businesses and nonprofits had booths than last year. Our team of Chris and Don Stockton, Rev. Stacy, Becki Casey and Brenda Rezvan were pleased to represent Little Fork at the event. The weather was glorious and I felt the mood was more joyous and less apprehensive than last year. We look forward to being in attendance again next June.
