Mardi Gras 2022
What a fantastic Mardi Gras celebration we had on the evening of March 2! Reverend Stacy and her husband Joel did an outstanding job leading us through some of their favorite New Orleans traditions which celebrate family time, to include festive beads, masks, and music, delicious jambalaya, and scrumptious King Cakes! Fellowship and fun was shared within our church family, as we ate, played board games, and dressed up!
Once dinner and dessert was served and cleaned up, everyone met up again in the church, which is always so beautiful at nighttime. Quiet prayer and reflection time allowed us to begin the season of Lent, with intention and purpose. Clay earth from the burying grounds was used to symbolically mark this start, as all received prayers and blessings, with the mark of a cross on our foreheads, using this most sacred dirt.
We were having so much fun, only a few pictures were snapped, but please enjoy! And, please plan to join us next year!
