One Together – A Living Church

Little Fork Episcopal Church is distinguished as being the only colonial church in Culpeper County. Indeed, the fact that our church has a historic presence resonates with many who first venture onto our grounds and is often the reason they come to visit. But Little Fork is much more than just a building. Within these walls lives a vibrant church community!

Yes, Little Fork is a Living Church, a community of people of faith, who love and try to live out the teachings of Jesus Christ. Being a living church comes with responsibility. As Christians we are tasked with meeting the needs of each other and the local community. It is a process to understand how best to use our congregationā€™s time, giftedness, financial resources and voice to bring about the world that God desires. Little Fork is blessed that the surrounding acreage of the church was purchased to preserve the ambiance of the setting when the church was restored. How best to be good stewards of this resource and use it for Little Forkā€™s Ministries? How do we discern and envision what is possible for Little Fork? One answer is with a Master Plan. Many of you discovered this if you attended the Master Plan meeting to share your thoughts with Landscape Architect, Julie Basic, last Sunday. We also came to understand that a Master Plan will take time to come to fruition and that we canā€™t wait for it to be completed before we reach out to those in need of a church home. If we do, our historic building could easily become a museum.

As we look to our past, we also look to the future with hope for Little Fork. These walls have seen both strife and joy in their history. With Godā€™s help and yours, they will continue to see a growing community of love and celebration for years to come. But in order to grow our church, we need to act now to set the foundation. Please help us with your pledge so that future generations may worship and live within this sacred space called Little Fork Episcopal Church!
