Prayers of the People August 25, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “Bless us and keep us close”.
Bless our questions and the stirring of our hearts. Grant us wonder and delight in your mystery. Guide us in being good stewards of this beautiful natural space. May hands and hearts who are working on the Master Plan be blessed.
We come before you, O God, saying Bless us and keep us close.
We pray for your church, that we may be alert to your stirring, and aware of your presence. Guide and strengthen those in leadership: our bishops, priests, and deacons. We lift to you Bishop Stevenson, Assistant Bishop Harris, our Rector, Stacy, and our supply priest, Jenks. Empower all who worship and serve in your church, in your name.
We come before you, O God, saying Bless us and keep us close.
Our hearts ache for people around the world and locally, who live in poverty, hunger, and oppression. Keep us mindful of their needs, and move us to make a difference in their lives. Bless the work of the ministry of Feed My Sheep.
We come before you, O God, saying Bless us and keep us close.
We are surrounded by people who are in pain, physically and spiritually. We pray that they are upheld by our prayers and come to know healing in their lives. (Please read the first names of those on the prayer list).
Please offer the names of any you know who are in need of healing or comfort.
We come before you, O God, saying Bless us and keep us close.
Some among us are dying, and some have passed into eternal life. We pray for those who mourn and ask that all may be assured of your unending presence and your promise of life eternal with your saints in light. (Please read the first names of those on the prayer list).
At this time please offer the names of any you know who have died or are grieving.
We come before you, O God, saying Bless us and keep us close.
