Prayers of the People January 14, 2024

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
We thank you, Lord, for calling prophets, such as Samuel, to serve you. Thank you that we also can hear your voice. Help us recognize our individual callings and faithfully carry out your will for our lives.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lord, we thank you for those whom you’ve called to vocational ministry, as you called your disciples, Philip and Nathaniel. We pray especially for our Visiting Bishops, Ted and James, and our Rector, Stacy. Give them wisdom as they study, preach and counsel. May they faithfully communicate your Word and administer the sacraments.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We praise you for searching us out, knowing us intimately, and being acquainted with all our ways. We acknowledge our sinfulness and ask you to guide us in the way everlasting.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We thank you for our relationship with Beulah Baptist Church, that it may help to heal wounds caused by racial injustice and serve to deepen the bonds between our two congregations, as we serve our communities together.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We lift to you those who have been killed, injured, or displaced because of human violence, especially those in Ukraine, Israel and Palestine. Comfort the survivors, strengthen those who treat the injured, and provide the necessary humanitarian aid. We pray for an end to the violence and for an enduring peace.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lord, we pray for our governmental leaders, especially our President, Joe, and Governor, Glenn, as well as those at our county and community levels. Give them wisdom as they face the challenges of leadership.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
