Prayers of the People January 15, 2023

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Light of the Nations, we praise you for bringing salvation to the ends of the earth. Make us always grateful for your gift of salvation.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world, we thank you for the forgiveness you provided through your death on the cross. Remind us to claim your forgiveness whenever we sin.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Son of God, as you fulfilled all righteousness by being baptized by John, help us be faithful to our baptismal vows, with the help of your Spirit.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Good Shepherd, we thank you for those who shepherd their flocks, especially Michael our Presiding Bishop, Mark our Diocesan Bishop, Gayle and Ted our Assisting Bishop, Stacy our Rector, and Jenks and Amanda, our visiting priests. Give them wisdom as they study, preach and counsel. May they faithfully communicate your Word and administer the sacraments.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Christ the Victor, we lift to you those who have been killed, injured, or traumatized because of human violence, especially those in Ukraine and Afghanistan. Wipe away every tear from their eyes. We pray for an end to the violence and for an enduring peace.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Christ the Lord of Lords, we pray for our governmental leaders, especially our President, Joe, and Governor, Glenn, as well as those at our county and community levels. Give them wisdom as they face the challenges of leadership
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Jesus the Healer, pour out your healing power on the spirits, minds and bodies of all who are in pain or sorrow, especially those on our church prayer list (Read the first names of those on church prayer list). Please share prayers for others in need of healing or comfort.
