Prayers of the People January 19, 2025

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

The congregational response is “let us pray to the Lord.”

Jesus, we praise you for revealing your glory by transforming water into wine at the wedding in Cana. As the disciples began to believe in you through that miracle, help us grow in faith.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for Bishop Shand and Bishop Gulich, our Visiting Bishops. Help them encourage the members of churches they visit, through their preaching and personal interactions.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Lord, we trust you to guide our men’s group, St. Brigid’s Brigade, and our Ladies Bible Study, as they seek to understand and apply your Word to their lives.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray, O God, for all those who establish and interpret laws, especially our legislators and judges. Give them wisdom equal to their responsibilities, that they may serve the common good and promote justice.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We believe that you love and care for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.

You are invited to add the names of others in need of healing or comfort.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Gracious Lord, we give thanks for all who have passed beyond death and been transformed in your glorious kingdom, especially (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list).

You are invited to add the names of others who have passed away.

That we like them may come into the fullness of your presence.

For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Christ our Mediator, at this time we offer you our thanksgivings and requests.

You are invited to add your thanksgivings or requests.
