Prayers of the People January 22, 2023

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

Please join in the Prayers of the People and the congregational response is “let us pray to the Lord.”

Christ, the Light of the Word, you have fulfilled prophecy by rescuing us from the power of darkness and transferring us into your Kingdom of Light. With the help of the Holy Spirit, help us walk in your light.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

King Jesus, you announced the coming of your Kingdom and commanded people to repent. Help us be your faithful subjects and give us a willingness and humility to repent.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for those who shepherd the flock of Little Fork Church, especially our Rector, Stacy, and our supply priests, Amanda and Jenks, as well as members of our Vestry. Give them wisdom as they serve and guide our congregation into the future.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray, O God, for all those who establish and interpret laws, especially our legislators and judges. Give our leaders wisdom equal to their responsibilities, that they may serve the common good and promote justice. We pray for our President, Joe, our Governor, Glenn, and all officials at the local, state, and national levels.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Christ the Living Word, feed us with your life-giving Scriptures. Help us be doers of the Word and not hearers only. Guide our men’s group, St. Brigid’s Brigade, as they seek to understand the Scriptures and apply them to their lives.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for unity among all believers in our community. Guide the churches of various denominations to worship you in spirit and in truth, and to serve their communities with the love of Christ.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We believe that you love and care for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
