Prayers of the People January 5, 2025
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Let us respond to each prayer with, “Let your light shine in our lives.”
Father God, who guided wise men to Jesus, guide us in safe paths for your Kingdom’s sake. As the wise men worshiped Him, may we give him the honor due his name. Lord, may our lives and homes reflect Jesus, so that we might be the means through which others encounter him. in order to worship him.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
Good Shepherd, guide those who shepherd their spiritual flocks, especially our new Presiding Bishop Rowe, our Diocesan Bishop Stephenson, and our Assistant Bishop Harris.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
Wise Counselor, we lift to you our Vestry. Give the members wisdom as they help guide our church into the future, especially as they carry out our Master Plan.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
King of Kings, we pray for our earthly rulers, especially Joe our President, Glenn our Governor, as well as our community leaders, that they would lead with justice, mercy and humility.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
Lord our Healer, we remember all who suffer, and those who care for them. We pray for all who are in danger and those in need of healing, especially (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list).
You are invited to add the names of others in need.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
Living God, we give thanks for all who have passed beyond death and are experiencing everlasting life with you, especially (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list).
You are invited to add the names of others who have passed away.
That we like them may come into the fullness of your presence.
Loving Lord, let your light shine in our lives.
God of Grace, we come to you with our personal thanksgivings and petitions.
You are invited to add your personal prayers and thanksgivings.
We thank you for promising to hear us when we approach your throne of grace.
