Prayers of the People July 3, 2022

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
We thank you for our nation, with its strengths of religious freedom, human rights and constitutional law. That our leaders may preserve those values and govern with justice, mercy and humility,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
We acknowledge our nation’s transgressions—displacement of Native Americans, enslavement of African Americans, and mistreatment of immigrants. That we may work to alleviate the enduring wounds, and endeavor to treat every human being with respect,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
For the other nations of the world, that their leaders will govern with righteousness, ruling in the fear of God, and that peace and prosperity will be restored in war-torn countries, such as Ukraine and Afghanistan,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
For all who serve, and have served, in the armed forces, may we be thankful for their many sacrifices, and honor the service they render to our country and to the security of the world,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
For all who share your good news of your Kingdom, by their lives and your Word, whether with neighbors, colleagues or strangers, give them love, courage and sensitivity,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
For our spiritual shepherds, the Bishops of our Diocese, Susan and Jennifer, our Bishop Elect, Mark, our Rector, Stacy, our retired Bishop Ted and our occasional celebrants, Jenks and Amanda.May they, as well as all bishops, priests and deacons, lead us faithfully in pursuit of the Church’s mission,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
Holy God, it is our joy that you have written our names in The Book of Life.As ambassadors of Christ, help us remember to rejoice that our names are written in Heaven, more than in the success of our work or ministry,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
We pray for those in need of protection, comfort or healing, in particular (please read the first names of those on our church prayer list) and those we now name.
Please add the names of those in need of healing and comfort.
That they may experience your protection, comfort and healing, and may those who care for them be encouraged and strengthened,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
We pray for all who have entered into your presence and are enjoying your everlasting care, especially (Please read the first names of those on our church prayer list, if any) and those we now name.
Please offer any names of those who have died or are grieving.
May we follow the example of their faith, and may their loved ones experience your comfort,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
At this time, please add your thanksgivings and petitions.
Please add your prayers and thanksgivings.
That we may be assured of your care for us,
we pray, O God, hear our prayer.
