Prayers of the People May 1, 2022

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

The congregational response is “and have mercy upon us.”

Lord Jesus, as you appeared to your disciples by the Sea of Galilee, make yourself known to us as we worship you today and as we walk with you this week. May we enjoy your fellowship and glorify you with our lives.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Our Good Shepherd, we thank you for those who shepherd us: For our Diocesan Bishops, Susan, Jennifer and Porter, our Rector, Stacy, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons; that they may be faithful shepherds as they tend and feed their flocks.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Heavenly King, guide those in authority over our nation, state and communities, especially our President, Joe, and our Governor, Glenn, that they would govern with justice, mercy and humility.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Prince of Peace, we pray for people suffering from war, hunger and terrorism in Ukraine, Afghanistan and other nations.Protect them and provide for their needs. Use believers in those counties to love their neighbors through service and sacrifice.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Bearer of Good News, help us faithfully represent Christ in our communities of Culpeper, Warrenton and Amissville by our lives and our words. Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Risen Christ, we praise you for the miracles you worked while on earth and throughout the ages.We trust you for your miracle-working power in our lives and in those who are suffering from illness, tragedy or persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (read the first names of those on our prayer list and those whom you wish to name at this time

You are invited to share your prayers for those who need comfort or healing.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Living Savior, you demonstrated your power in rising from the dead. With all those believers who have passed on before us, we look forward to the resurrection in the last days.We pray for all who have already entered into your presence and are enjoying your everlasting care, especially (read the first names of those on our prayer list) and those whom you wish to name at this time

You are invited to share prayers for those who have died or are grieving.

Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon us.

Holy God, you demonstrated your love for us through the Resurrection of your Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. We commit to making decisions regarding the future of our congregation and church grounds as who trust in your ever-present love and grace. Guide us in becoming a congregation that welcomes all, values mutuality in our outreach and partnerships, and honors the past while focusing on the future. Provide us courage and insight as we seek to make Little Fork a place where the larger Rixeyville community finds respite, a place to sooth their souls, and a connect to Your creation. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
