Prayers of the People May 15, 2022
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Please join in the Prayers of the People; the congregational response is “hear our prayer.”
Lord Jesus, as you commanded us to love one another, just as you love us, help us to demonstrate that love toward others. We acknowledge that it is impossible on our own, so we ask for the enabling of your Holy Spirit to produce that love in us.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We pray for our Diocesan Bishops, Susan, Jennifer and Porter, our Rector, Stacy, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons; that they may be faithful ministers of your word and sacraments.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We uplift to you those who have been killed, injured, or traumatized because of human violence, especially those in Ukraine and Afghanistan. We pray: God, wipe away every tear from their eyes. We pray for an end to the violence. We pray that you will bring about peace.
For this we pray to the Lord; lord hear our prayer.
Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
O Lord, we pray for those who work for justice and peace in our community. We thank you for our members who have worked in law enforcement, past and present, especially those we name now (Please add names of law enforcement).
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We believe that you love and care for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
You are invited to share your prayers for those who need comfort or healing.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Lord, you have given to us the gift is eternal life; those who belong to you never perish. Bring us, and those who have died, into your heavenly home where we may worship you forever and ever. We bring before you those on our church prayer list (read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the first names of others who have died recently.
You are invited to share prayers for those who have died or are grieving.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Enliven the Church with your Holy Spirit, so that we may be instruments of your peace and love in a troubled world. Use us and all believers as your ambassadors to our families, colleagues and neighbors.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Holy God, you demonstrated your love for us through the Resurrection of your Son and our Savior Jesus Christ. We commit to making decisions regarding the future of our congregation and church grounds as who trust in your ever-present love and grace. Guide us in becoming a congregation that welcomes all, values mutuality in our outreach and partnerships, and honors the past while focusing on the future. Provide us courage and insight as we seek to make Little Fork a place where the larger Rixeyville community finds respite, a place to sooth their souls, and a connect to Your creation. Grant us all things necessary for our common life, and bring us all to be of one heart and mind within your holy Church; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
