Prayers of the People May 22, 2022

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

Please join in the Prayers of the People; the congregational response is “let us pray to the Lord.”

By the gift and power of the Holy Spirit, teach your Church to walk in the ways of Jesus. May we keep his commandments in our minds, in our hearts, and with our words and actions.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for all who serve in the Church, especially our Diocesan Bishops, Susan, Jennifer and Porter, our Rector, Stacy, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons; that the Holy Spirit would guide them as they preach, teach and counsel.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

For those in authority, including Joe, our President, and Glenn, our Governor, lead them into the ways of justice, peace and truth.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for the peoples of Ukraine and Afghanistan who are suffering the ravages of war—hunger, cold, grief and displacement. We thank you for all who are sacrificing their time and resources to meet their needs. Bring war and terror to an end.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We trust you for protection, healing and comfort for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution, especially (read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
