Prayers of the People November 10, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Let us respond to each prayer with “that we may behold your glory.”
Lord, as your followers, help us grow in honesty and integrity, avoiding the temptation to hypocrisy that characterized the scribes and other religious leaders of Jesus’ day.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We are humbled by the example of the poor widow, who gave all she had to live on. Create in us a spirit of generosity, that we may give toward the advancement of your Kingdom, the ministries of our church, and the needs of the poor in our community. Use our gifts to Feed My Sheep for your glory.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We pray for all who have dedicated their lives to serving you. We pray especially for our Rector, Stacy, she may have your wisdom and guidance as she studies, preaches, counsels We also trust you to lead her as she serves other churches and organizations through Learning Forte.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We thank you for hymn-writers and musicians, especially Ben, our church musician, soloists, and our Pop-Up choir, for the ways they have enriched our worship. May they help us to sing your praises.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We pray for the members of your body who are engaged in various vocations. Encourage our members, and other local believers, who serve in counseling, medicine, welfare, government, law enforcement, emergency services, education, business and the trades. May their words and actions shine the light of Christ in their spheres of influence.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We pray all who are seeking you and enquiring about their faith, as well as our local Muslim community. May they all come to understand the love of God and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus for them.
Lord, open our eyes, that we may behold your glory.
We pray for all who are sick, in danger or hardship, as well as those who care for them. We pray for comfort and healing for those named on our prayer list (Please read the first names of those on church prayer list). Please share the names of others in need of healing or comfort.
