Prayers of the People November 17, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Let us respond to each prayer with “have mercy upon us.”
Our Lord, we thank you for teaching us the importance of embracing eternal values over temporal ones. We confess that, just as the disciples were impressed with the grandeur of the Temple, we are easily impressed with earthly riches, power or position. Help us to focus on things that will last, rather than those that will be destroyed.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Holy Father, we pray for your universal Church, that it may reveal your love. Enable Little Fork Episcopal Church to be an open and accepting church. Unite us with other area churches as we serve our communities.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Friend of the disadvantaged, we thank you for the Diocesan Ministry of Racial Justice and Healing. Guide Canon Lee, and the other members of that ministry, as they seek to increase understanding of our nation’s racial history, and promote healing of longstanding wounds.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Spirit of Truth, we trust you to guide our men’s group, St. Brigid’s Brigade, and our Ladies Bible Study, as they seek to understand and apply your Word to their lives.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
King of Kings, guide our elected officials as they exercise their authority, especially our Governor, Glenn, and our President, Joe. May mercy, justice and humility characterize their leadership.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
Great Physician, we commit to you the aged and infirm, the widowed and orphans, the sick and the suffering. We pray for comfort and healing for those on our Little Fork Church Prayer List (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others who need comfort and healing.
You may share names of those in need at this time.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
We give you thanks and praise for all who have triumphed over the challenges of this life and who now serve you in your Kingdom. We pray for those who are departed, especially (Please read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add any names of others who have died recently.
You may share the names of any who have died recently at this time.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
At this time, please share any personal requests or thanksgivings, remembering that God asks us to come before his throne of grace.
You may share your thanksgivings or petitions.
Lord, our Redeemer, have mercy upon us.
