Prayers of the People October 30, 2022

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Lord, we remember the mercy Jesus showed to Zachaeous. Be merciful to your Church. Forgive our sins of greed, pride and indifference. Give us humility that we may generously extend mercy to those around us.
God be merciful, and hear our prayer.
Lord, be merciful to our nation. Forgive us for our unjust practices, both past and present. Give us the humility to care for all disadvantaged people—minorities, recent immigrants, the poor, orphans and widows.
God be merciful, and hear our prayer.
Lord, we pray for our President, Joe, our Governor, Glenn, and all elected officials in the nation, states, and our local communities. May they do justice, love, mercy, and walk humbly with their God.
God be merciful, and hear our prayer.
Lord, guide those who serve in ministry, especially Susan, our bishop, Mark, our bishop-elect, Ted, our assisting bishop, and Stacy, our rector. May they be sensitive to your leading as they study, preach, counsel and administer the sacraments.
God be merciful, and hear our prayer.
Lord, be merciful to all those who suffer in body, mind or spirit, and those who care for them, especially (share the first names of those on our church prayer list).
At this time the congregation may share the names of any in need of healing or comfort

Lord, be merciful to all who have died and all who mourn. We thank you for your gracious promise of eternal life to all who believe. We remember those who have died recently, especially (share the first names of those on our church prayer list).

Lord, as you have given us a common calling, to love you with all our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves, make us worthy of our calling. Help each of us discern our particular calling and fulfill it by your wisdom and strength.
God be merciful, and hear our prayer
At this time, please add your thanksgivings or requests
