Prayers of the People September 17, 2023

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

The congregational response is, ā€œAnd graciously hear us.ā€

For the holy Church of God, that it may be characterized by a spirit of forgiveness. May we follow Jesusā€™ command to forgive others seventy times seven, and the example of the master who forgave his slave an extravagant debt.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

We pray for all who have dedicated their lives to ministry. We pray for our Diocesan Bishop, Mark, our Assistant Bishop, Gayle, our Visiting Bishops, Dabney and Ted, our Rector, Stacy, our supply priests, Amanda and Jenks, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons, that they may continually depend upon Your wisdom.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

Guide our menā€™s group, St. Brigidā€™s Brigade, and our Ladiesā€™ Zoom Study Group, as they seek to understand Your Word and apply it to their everyday lives.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

We pray for leaders of the nations involved in conflict, suffering from injustice, or experiencing famine. Move them to seek peace and justice, and raise up peacemakers, especially in Afghanistan, Ukraine and Yemen.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

Lord, deepen our passion to meet the needs of the poor and neglected. Use our gifts through Feed My Sheep to help the needy in our communities. May those who receive help give You the glory.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

For all who have commended themselves to our prayers for safety, healing and comfort, especially (Please read the first names of people on our prayer list). Please add the first names of others in need of comfort or healing.

You are invited to add the names of others in need.

That they may live in good health, joy and peace, we pray to You.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

For all who have died in the communion of your Church, and those whose faith is known to You alone, especially (Please read the first names of people on our prayer list). Please add the names of others who have recently died.

You are invited to add the names of others who have died.

That, with all the saints, they may have rest in that place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal, we pray to You.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

At this time, please add any personal requests or thanksgivings.

You are invited to add petitions and thanksgivings.

Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.

Rejoicing in the fellowship of all believers throughout the ages, let us commend ourselves, and one another, and all our life to You.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
