Prayers of the People September 29, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “and graciously hear us.”
Jesus said, “Whoever is not against us is for us.” Therefore, we affirm our area congregations, of all denominations, and trust you to unify us, enabling us to work together to spread the gospel and serve the needy in our communities.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who have dedicated their lives to ministry. We pray especially for Stacy, our Rector, and Lee, our Canon for Racial Justice and Healing. Give them wisdom and discernment in their respective ministries.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray all who are seeking and enquiring about their faith, as well as our local Muslim community. May they all come to understand the love of God and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus for them.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for our governmental leaders, especially Joe our President, Glenn our Governor, as well as our community leaders, that they would lead with justice, mercy and humility.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who are in danger, sickness or in trouble, and for all who mourn or care for those who suffer. We pray especially for those for whom prayer has been requested (Read the first names of those on our church prayer list). Please share the first names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
You are invited to share the names of those in need.
May they be protected, comforted and healed, and may those who care for them be strengthened and encouraged.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who have entered into your presence and are enjoying your everlasting care, especially (Read the first names of those on our church prayer list). Please share the first names of others who have died recently.
You are invited to add the names of others recently departed.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
At this time please feel free to voice your own petitions and thanksgivings.
You are invited to offer personal prayers.
We offer to you, O God, a sacrifice of praise.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
