Episcopal Congregation with Non-Episcopalian Members – Oct. 23
October 23, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
Who can be a member at Little Fork? Do you have to be an Episcopalian? There is a distinction between being a member of a local congregation and being a member of the larger Episcopal Church. Join Stacy as she shares her understanding of this distinction and guides our discussion of how being clear about this can help us be ready to welcome new members.
Conversations will be held in the Turner Room of the Parish Hall or you may join us via this .At Little Fork, we often talk about welcoming new people and reaching out to the people who are starting to move into the area. As we start to do this, it is very helpful to have clarity among ourselves about what it means to be a member of our congregation, if being a member at an Episcopal Church makes you an Episcopalian, and what (if anything) we expect of people who consider themselves members at Little Fork.
During these three weeks in October, we will gather after church on Sundays to share coffee, cookies, and participate in this discussion. Please plan to Join Jenks and Stacy as they guide our learning and discussion.
