Intergenerational Sunday School: Exploring the Psalms During Lent
11:30 – 12:30
Lent is a time in which we are encouraged to reflect on our lives and our relationship with God, studying the life, teachings, and miracles of Jesus. During our Intergenerational Sunday School, we will further explore the Psalm assigned for the day. The psalms are songs that would have been accompanied by some type of instruments. They are also songs that Jesus would have known.
The psalms and themes we will explore are:
- Sunday, Mar 6 (Lent 1): Psalm 91:1-2, 9-16 “You are my refuge”
- Sunday, Mar 13 (Lent 2): No meeting due to Vestry Meeting
- Sunday, Mar 20 (Lent 3): Psalm 27 “You are my fortress”
- Sunday, Mar 27 (Lent 4): Psalm 63:1-8 “My satisfaction is in God”
- Sunday, Apr 3 (Lent 5): Psalm 32 “You surround me with songs of rescue”
- Sunday, Apr 10 (Palm Sunday): Psalm 126 “The Lord has done great things for us”
These sessions are part of The Church Family Gathers Curriculum, which is designed to meet the need for generations to learn and grow together, bridging the gaps in our church experience. The intergenerational learning events are intended to allow all ages to eat together, play together, study God’s Word together, and pray together.
People of every age are invited to participate,
knowing that our elders have much to teach
and that being childlike is a spiritual gift.
