Pop-Up Choir December 2024

Pop-Up Choir Music Preview

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to make music with you in this season’s Pop-Up Choir. Our goal at Little Fork is to create a musical experience that is inviting for however you want to experience music – whether that is making a joyful noise in the choir or listening in the congregation. We welcome all ability levels to join in and journey through Advent with us with these tunes:

The Yearning

“There is a yearning in hearts weighed down by ancient grief and centuries of sorrow. There is a yearning for the Lord who visited His own, and by His death for sin atoned, to bring to us salvation. Emmanuel, within our hearts, the yearning.” The Yearning, by Craig Courtney, sets a perfect tone for the season. It’s contemplative yet uplifting, humble yet strong, and a perfect encapsulation of our need for our Savior.

A Celtic French Carol

This piece will show off some of the best aspects of our choir and our congregation. Similar to past Christmas Eve anthems, A Celtic French Carol breathes energy into the service with driving, rhythmic piano playing and upbeat, encouraging lyrics. While there is nothing Celtic or French about Little Fork, I feel that you’ll recognize that this piece fits our energy as a congregation. Additionally, we will be joined by my student Diego Quintanar-Pena on violin for this Christmas Eve performance.

I’m looking forward to making music with any and all of you this Advent season. If you want to participate, check out the Pop-Up Choir link provided below for rehearsal schedules and soon for practice recordings. Feel free to reach out to me via email at [email protected] with any questions!
