Prayers of the People April 21, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is, âGood Shepherd, guide us.â
Our Good shepherd, out of love you laid down your life for us, your sheep. Now you faithfully feed and protect us. May we always remember your sacrifice and constant care, and be thankful.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
We praise you for the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the disciples after Jesusâ resurrectionâfor miraculous healings, and the fearless proclamation of the Gospel. May the Holy Spirit work through us as we serve you.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
We pray for those who shepherd our congregation, Stacy, our Rector, and Becki, our Ministry Intern. Give them love, grace and wisdom as they lead their flock.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
God our Savior, encourage our members who serve our congregation, in particular the facilitators of our menâs and womenâs Bible study groups. Give them understanding and wisdom as they prepare and lead.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
We trust you to encourage our members, and other local believers, as they serve through their professions, in counseling, medicine, welfare, government, law enforcement, emergency services, education, business and the trades. May their words and actions shine the light of Christ in their spheres of influence.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
King of Kings, we pray for our earthly rulers, especially Joe our President, Glenn our Governor, as well as our community leaders, that they would lead with justice, mercy and humility. Help all of us to be responsible citizens, pursuing peace and security in our neighborhoods.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
Loving God, we remember all who are ill or injured, as well as those in danger from warfare. We pray for all who are in need of healing or protection, and for those who care for them, especially (Read the first names of those on our prayer list).
You are invited to add the names of others in need.
Eternal Father, we give thanks for all who have passed beyond death and been transformed in your glorious kingdom, especially (Read the first names of those on our prayer list).
You are invited to add the names of others who have passed away.
Thank you that all believers will dwell in your house forever.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
God Who Listens, we entrust our thanksgivings and petitions into your gracious hands. At this time, please add your own thanksgivings or petitions, in full confidence that the Lord hears and answers.
You are invited to add your personal prayers and thanksgivings.
We are your sheep; Good Shepherd, guide us.
