Prayers of the People February 12, 2023

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Please join in the Prayers of the People and the congregational response is direct our ways.
Happy are they who walk in the law of the Lord! So let us come before the Lord, saying, “Righteous God, direct our ways.”
Lord our God, bless your Church. May those who plant and those who water recognize their common purpose. Give abundant growth where your Church labors faithfully. Give strength and direction to all who serve as bishops, priests and deacons including: Mark, our Bishop, Ted and Gayle, our visiting bishops, Stacy, our Rector, and Amanda and Jenks, our supply priests.
Righteous God, direct our ways.
Lord our God, bless the people of this and every nation. Draw nations and leaders to choose those ways that promote life and not death. We lift to you all nations torn apart by war including Ukraine and all nations that face unrest among the leaders.
Righteous God, direct our ways.
Lord our God, bless this planet—your very footstool. Give us the wisdom and will to allow the earth to prosper as you have intended—naturally bringing forth growth and prosperity. Bless our local farmers who work to ensure our food supplies and be good stewards of the earth.
Righteous God, direct our ways.
Lord our God, bless our communities. Give us those things we need to live together as neighbors. Remove from our hearts anger, discord, greed and envy. May we seek to serve you as we serve our neighbors in need, especially through Feed My Sheep.
Righteous God, direct our ways.
Lord our God, bless the sick and the struggling. May they find life in relationship with you. Make them happy as they seek you with all their hearts. We remember (please read the first names of those on our prayer list)
We invite the congregation to add the names of those who need healing
Righteous God, direct our ways.
Lord our God, bless the dying and the dead. May they find peace and comfort at the foot of your heavenly throne. If there are names of those who have died or are grieving, share those names aloud. (please read the first names of those on our prayer list)
