Prayers of the People February 4, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Let us respond to each of the Prayers of the People with “Let us pray to the Lord.”
Lord, we thank you that you will renew our strength if we wait on you. You promise that we will mount up with wings like eagles, and that we will not be weary or faint.
As we wait on him, let us pray to the Lord.
As Paul became all things to all men, so that he might help them enter your Kingdom, enable us to be effective witnesses to all who are yet to believe in Christ, including family members, neighbors and colleagues. May we faithfully represent Christ, by our lives and our words.
As we wait on him, let us pray to the Lord.
We pray for those who shepherd the flock of Little Fork Church, especially our Rector, Stacy, our ministry intern, Becki, and our supply priests, Amanda and Jenks. Give them wisdom as they serve and guide our congregation into the future.
As we wait on him, let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, we pray for our governmental leaders, especially our President, Joe, and Governor, Glenn, as well as those at our county and community levels. Give them wisdom as they face the challenges of leadership.
As we wait on him, let us pray to the Lord.
We give thanks for those who have protected us, who have shielded us from harm or evil, who have enriched our lives by their goodness. We pray for all upon whom our security depends—the police, EMT and the fire service, that you will strengthen and encourage them.
As we wait on him, let us pray to the Lord.
Jesus, we praise you for your power and compassion. You heal the sick, as you demonstrated in healing Peter’s mother-in-law; you also heal the brokenhearted and support the afflicted. We claim this for all who are sick or in trouble, for all who are suffering from war and famine. We pray especially for (read the first names of those on church prayer list). Please add the first names of others in need of healing or comfort.
