Prayers of the People January 21, 2024

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.

King Jesus, you announced the coming of your Kingdom and commanded people to repent and believe. Help us be your faithful subjects and give us a willingness and humility to repent and believe.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Thank you for the example of Peter, Andrew, James and John, who responded to Jesus’ call, dropped their nets, and followed him. We pray for laborers who made sacrifices to spread your gospel to the ends of the earth. Give them the hope, endurance and strength necessary to fulfill their mission.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray for those who guide the Diocese of Virginia, especially Mark, our Diocesan Bishop, and Gayle, our Assistant Bishop. Give them wisdom as they serve and guide our diocese into the future.

We trust you to encourage are members, and other local believers, who serve in counseling, medicine, welfare, government, law enforcement, emergency services, education, business and the trades. May their words and actions shine the light of Christ in their spheres of influence.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

We pray, O God, for all those who establish and interpret laws, especially our legislators and judges. Give our leaders wisdom equal to their responsibilities, that they may serve the common good and promote justice. We pray for our President, Joe, our Governor, Glenn, and all officials at the local, state, and national levels.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.

Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and treasure.
