Prayers of the People July 2, 2023

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “let us pray to the Lord.”
O Lord, we praise you for providing Jesus as our sacrificial lamb, just as you provided a ram in order to redeem Isaac. Redeem us, O Lord, as we trust in Jesus will all our heart.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, we believe that you love us and are present with us always. Help us believe in you, and praise you, even when it seems that you are distant.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We pray for all who serve in the Church, especially our Diocesan Bishop, Mark, our Assistant Bishop, Gayle, our Visiting Bishops, Ted and Dabney, our Rector, Stacy, and our supply priests, Amanda, Jenks and Kyle, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons; that the Holy Spirit would guide them as they preach, teach and counsel.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Our gracious God, we thank you that you reward those who give as much as a cup of water to those in need. Help us be generous to the needy in our communities, both individually and corporately. We ask that those who receive our help will give you the glory.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We thank you for our nation, with its strengths of religious freedom, human rights and constitutional law. May our leaders preserve those values and govern with justice, mercy and humility.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We acknowledge our nation’s transgressions—displacement of Native Americans, enslavement of African Americans, and mistreatment of immigrants. May we work to heal the enduring wounds, and endeavor to treat every human being with respect.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
For all who serve, and have served, in the armed forces, may we be thankful for their many sacrifices, and honor the service they render to our country and to the security of the world, we pray.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
