Prayers of the People July 7, 2024
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “hear our prayer.”
Lord Jesus, we praise you for your power to heal. Increase our faith when facing challenges in our lives, such as disease, stress, and family conflicts.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Your disciples had to trust you, Lord, for guidance and provision, when Jesus sent them out two by two. Help us trust you for our daily needs, as well as direction as we serve You.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
As we have recently celebrated our nation’s birth, we thank you for its values of freedom, welfare and justice. We acknowledge our country’s weaknesses, especially its unjust treatment of indigenous peoples and people of color. We ask your forgiveness for these sins, and ask you to continue to heal our nation by your mercy and grace.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We pray for our Diocesan Bishop Stevenson and our Assistant Bishop Harris, that they may be sensitive to Your voice as they lead our diocese.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We thank you for Ben, our church musician, members of the pop-up choirs, as well as Otto and Mike, who installed our pipe organ. May our music glorify you as we lift our praises to you.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
We uplift to you those who have been killed, injured, or displaced because of war, especially the peoples of Ukraine, Israel, Palestine and Yemen. We pray for an end to the violence, famine and hardship.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.
For this we pray to the Lord; hear our prayer.
