Prayers of the People May 28, 2023
These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is “we praise you and thank you.”
Glory be to God who sent his Holy Spirit to be our living water. May we always sing your praises and thank you for the gift of his indwelling Spirit.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
We thank you for our Archbishop, Justin, our Presiding Bishop, Michael, our Diocesan Bishop, Mark, our Assisting Bishop, Gayle, our Visiting Bishops, Dabney and Ted, our Rector, Stacy, and our supply priests, Jenks, Amanda, and Kyle, as well as all bishops, ministers, and spiritual leaders. We pray that they will continue to guide your Church in wisdom and truth.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
God of peace, we pray for countries broken by war, especially Ukraine, Afghanistan and Sudan, and for people who are suffering from earthquakes and famine, in particular Turkey, Syria and Yemen. May you be glorified through bringing peace, provision and prosperity to those who suffer.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
We give thanks for those who have healed us, protected us, shielded us from harm, and enriched our lives by their service. We pray for all health providers, police, EMT and the fire service, and for all upon whom our security and wellbeing depend.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
For the aged and infirm, for the widowed and orphans, and for the sick and the suffering. We pray for comfort and healing for those on our Little Fork Church Prayer List (read the names on our prayer list). Please add the names of others who need comfort or healing.
You are invited to offer the names of others in need.
We praise you for your healing power.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
Lord, extend our vision, that we may look beyond the temporal to the eternal. We pray for all who see you in that glory which is beyond measure; we remember loved ones departed, especially (read the names of the departed on our prayer list). Please add the names of others who have departed this life.
You are invited to offer the names of others who have died recently.
We long for the day when we shall see Christ as he is in his glory. We pray that we may triumph over darkness and death and share with the faithful in the light of your kingdom.
To God be the glory, we praise you and thank you.
