Prayers of the People May 5, 2024

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
The congregational response is, āLet us pray to the Lord.ā
O Lord, with the psalmist, we say that you āhave done marvelous thingsā! May we praise you continually for the marvelous things youāve done in our lives, our families, our nation.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, we thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to Gentiles, so that we may share in the promises to the descendants of Abraham. May your Spirit guide us, strengthen us, and instruct us in the way of righteousness.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Jesus, may we express our love for you by keeping your commandments in our minds, in our hearts, and with our words and actions. In particular, may we love you with all our heart, and our neighbor as ourselves.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We pray for all who serve in the Church, especially our supply priest, Jenks, that the Holy Spirit would guide them as they preach, teach and counsel.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We give thanks for those who have protected us, who have shielded us from harm or evil, who have enriched our lives by their goodness. We pray for all upon whom our security dependsāthe police, EMT and the fire service, that you will strengthen and encourage them.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
For those in authority, including Joe, our President, and Glenn, our Governor, lead them into the ways of justice, peace and truth.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and treasure.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
Lord, we entrust our children and grandchildren into your hands. Strengthen their faith as they face the challenges of college and a secular society. May they look to you as the ultimate source of fulfillment and truth.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
We trust you for protection, healing and comfort for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution, especially (Read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
You are invited to offer the names of others in need.
Lord, you have promised an eternal home to those who trust in you. We bring before you those who are now enjoying your presence, especially (Read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please add the first names of others who have died recently.
You are invited to offer the names of others who have died recently.
For his will to be done, let us pray to the Lord.
