Prayers of the People September 18, 2022
Please join in the Prayers of the People. The congregational response is “and graciously hear us.”
Our gracious God, we thank you that you have provided generously for all our needs. We want to serve you, our true Master, and not allow money, possessions or power to become idols. Help us overcome the temptations of greed and selfishness. May we be content with your provision.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for the leaders of the Church, especially our Diocesan Bishops, Susan, Jennifer, Porter, Ted and David, our Rector, Stacy, our supply priests, Amanda and Jenks, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons. Give them wisdom as they study, preach and counsel. May they faithfully communicate your Word and administer the sacraments.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We lift to you those who have been killed, injured, or traumatized because of human violence, especially those in Ukraine and Afghanistan. Wipe away every tear from their eyes. We pray for an end to the violence and for an enduring peace.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
Lord, help us to be faithful in the least, so we can be trusted with much. Guide us in our outreach to the disadvantaged, especially through Feed My Sheep. Give us an awareness of the needs in our communities. Direct us in the ways you want us to invest our resources of time, talent and money.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We thank you for the potential of our Master Plan to be a source of inspiration and refreshment to our church members and our surrounding communities. Guide us in the implementation of this plan and provide the funding for its development.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We believe that you love and care for those who are suffering from illness, violence and persecution. We pray for protection, comfort and healing for those on our church prayer list (Read the first names of those on our prayer list). Please share the names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.

Lord, you have given us the gift is eternal life; those who belong to you never perish. Bring us, and those who have died, into your heavenly home where we may worship you forever. We bring before you those who have passed away recently (Read the first names of those on our prayer list, if any). Please share the first names of others who have died recently.

At this time, please add your petitions or thanksgivings. You have promised us grace and mercy when we approach your throne.

Enliven the Church with your Holy Spirit, so that we may be instruments of your peace and love in a troubled world. Use us and all believers as your ambassadors to our families, colleagues and neighbors.
