Prayers of the People September 4, 2022

These are the Prayers of the People that will be used during church this week. We encourage you to use them as part of your personal prayers this week.
Please join in the Prayers of the People. The congregational response is āand graciously hear us.ā
As we are about to celebrate Labor Day, we pray for all laborers: for those who work, that they might be fulfilled; for those in need of work, that they might find meaningful employment; for those who are struggling to make ends meet, that they might receive a fair wage for their labors. In labor and in rest, be glorified by all we do.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
Lord, we desire to be your disciples. Help us be willing to pay whatever price you desire in order to follow you. We want to put Christ above all else in our lives. Give us necessary strength and grace.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We believe that you have a good plan for our lives. If it calls for suffering, give us the grace to accept it. If it calls for comforting others who suffer, help us to be wise and compassionate.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who have dedicated their lives to ministry. We pray for our Archbishop, Justin, our Presiding Bishop, Michael, our Diocesan Bishops, Susan and Jennifer, our Bishop-elect, Mark, our Rector, Stacy, as well as all bishops, priests, and deacons, that they may be faithful ministers of your Word and Sacraments.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray all who are seeking and enquiring about their faith, as well as our local Muslim community. May they all come to understand the love of God and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus for them.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
Guide our study group as they discuss Bishop Michaelās book, Love in the Way, as well our menās group, St. Brigidās Brigade, as they seek to understand and apply Your Word to their lives.
Lord, have mercy, and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who are in danger, sickness or in trouble and for all who mourn or care for those who suffer. We pray especially for those for whom prayer has been requested (Read the first names of those on our church prayer list). Please share the first names of others in need of protection, comfort or healing.
The congregation may share the names of those in need
May they be protected, comforted and healed, and may those who care for them be strengthened and encouraged.
Lord, have mercy and graciously hear us.
We pray for all who have entered into your presence and are enjoying your everlasting care, especially (Read the first names of those on our church prayer list). Please share the first names of others who have died recently.
The congregations may add the names of others recently departed

At this time please feel free voice your petitions and thanksgivings.
